The event included 28 booths and a total of 41 language streams to 4000 listeners in more than 15 rooms, using a hub-based remote interpreting approach including new ‘gap-bridging’ technology, used for the first time in North America.

The conference organizer is DS-Interpretation, Inc., whose President is Naomi Bowman, daughter of translation and interpretation pioneer Bill Wood who passed away recently. Naomi started The Bill Wood Memorial Fund for Technology in Translation and Interpretation in memory of her father.

Also working at the conference but not on the picture: Paula Navarro-Gomez MACI ‘02 (adjunct TISP faculty) and Kayo Wood MACI ‘08.
