Academic Year 2024–25

For the academic year 2024–25, students in all of our asynchronous, online programs pay $850 per credit.

Irrespective of the number of credits you are taking, all online students pay this rate.

  • Middlebury Institute scholarships and our partner scholarships are not available for our online, asynchronous programs.
  • Online students can secure additional funding via federal and private education loans and external scholarships.
  • To be eligible for federal aid as an online program student, you need to be enrolled in six or more credits per semester. This applies to fall, spring, and summer semesters.

Academic Year 2023–24

TESOL, IEM, and TLM

Students in our online MA in TESOL, online MA in International Education Management, and online MA in Translation and Localization Management should refer to our general tuition page for tuition and scholarship information for the academic year 2023–24. 

Starting in the academic year 2024–25, all online programs will pay the same tuition (see below).

MPA in Sustainability

Students in our online MPA in Sustainability pay $850/credit.

Irrespective of the number of credits you are taking, all online MPA in Sustainability students pay this rate.

  • Middlebury Institute scholarships and our partner scholarships are not available for this program.
  • Online students can secure additional funding via federal and private education loans and external scholarships.
  • To be eligible for federal aid as an online program student, you need to be enrolled in six or more credits per semester. This applies to fall, spring (including January term), and summer semesters.

Employer Benefits

Many employers offer tuition benefits to help employees cover the costs of professional development through courses like ours. Online students should speak to their HR departments for more information on their employer’s tuition benefits.

Additional Fees and Expenses

  • Both in-person program and online, asynchronous program students are charged student fees.
  • California law requires that, upon your enrollment, a fee be assessed relative to the cost of tuition (Education Code Section 94342) to support the Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF).
  • You are responsible for any additional personal expenses.
