Our Russian Summer Intensive Language Program (SILP) helps you master the language by rooting active speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills in formal knowledge, grammar study, and vocabulary building. We put you confidently on the path to fluency and to growing appreciation for one of the world’s great cultures—from the “Battleship Potemkin” to the Sochi Olympics.

Program Highlights

  • Build on structural elements of grammar and vocabulary.

  • Cultivate reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

  • Encounter authentic primary sources, including Russian videos, music lyrics, and animation.

  • Work on individual projects to develop fluency in a particular field of interest.

  • Participate in cocurricular activities such as excursions to San Francisco’s Russian district, Russian blini and piroshki cooking class, Russian conversation tables and game nights, lectures from prominent Russian speakers, and film screenings.
