How I Got Hired: Associate Localization Producer, Blizzard Entertainment
Middlebury Institute graduates discuss where they are working today, how the Institute helped them get there, and what advice they’d give to current and future MIIS students.
My name is June Jiang and I graduated with an MA in Translation and Localization Management from the Middlebury Institute in 2024. My language pair was Chinese-English. I am now an associate localization producer with Blizzard Entertainment in Irvine, California.
At Blizzard I manage enterprise-wide localization projects including marketing, video, animation, design, legal, finance, etc. My responsibilities include monitoring and aligning multiple localization workflows via a translation management system (TMS) to ensure timely project delivery on a daily basis.
I found my current position on LinkedIn. The Institute’s alumni network helped me connect with people in the industry to gain more insights, and class projects I completed gave me hands-on experiences that I was able to share during the interview.
My best advice for current students is this: do not set boundaries and limits on yourself. Always try different things and shoot for the stars. Also, make full use of the resources the Institute offers, such as the Center for Advising and Career Services, alumni gatherings, guest lectures, and so on.
