Two Middlebury Institute students, Julius Moye and Isabela Bernardo, were recently awarded scholarships from the Society for International Affairs.

Recent Middlebury Institute graduate Julius Moye and current student Isabela Bernardo earned scholarships from the Society for International Affairs (SIA), an organization dedicated to educating the international trade community, which awards annual scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students interested in careers in international trade compliance. Moye graduated from the Institute this past December with an MA in International Trade and Economic Diplomacy and an MA in Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies. Bernardo is currently pursuing a joint BA in International Policy and MA in Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies.

With regards to the scholarship, Moye shared, “I am deeply grateful for the SIA scholarship, for it not only provides financial assistance but access to an incredible community of compliance professionals. I am very much appreciative of the MIIS community for galvanizing my initial interest in the field and for SIA for the generous support along the way.”

Bernardo commented, “I am incredibly honored to be a recipient of the 2021 SIA Scholarship, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue pursuing a career in international trade compliance and export controls through the generosity of SIA.”
