In this short video, Jason Scorse, director of the Center for the Blue Economy and chair of the International Environmental Policy program breaks down how the Inflation Reduction Act’s (IRA) meaningful investments in renewable energy will help the U.S. transition away from fossil fuels.
 

The act, which President Joe Biden signed into law on August 15, includes substantial carbon emission reduction standards; financial incentives for electric vehicles, solar panels, and heat pumps; and investments in green jobs and manufacturing. Scorse said the IRA was the best environmental legislation he’d seen in his lifetime.
