Center on Terrorism, Extremism, and Counterterrorism (CTEC) Director Jason Blazakis was recently quoted by Middle East Eye: “US Terror Sanctions: Do Social Media Companies Have to Comply?” In this article Director Blazakis stated that “entities, whether it’s a bank or it’s Twitter, really have the obligation to be proactive in removing that kind of content as soon as that designation is made. If the content however is not being taken down, then it becomes a question of whether or not the U.S. government is paying attention.”
