Monterey Initiative in Russian Studies hosts four distinguished Russian and American experts during the week of April 4 - 8 to record a series of interviews for the new MIR series The Americanists.

Dr. Ivan Kurilla, professor of the European University at St. Petersburg and Dr. Victoria Zhuravleva, professor of the Russian State University for the Humanities, will be discussing mutual perceptions, images and misunderstandings of Russia and the United States with Jade McGlynn, co-director of the Monterey Summer Symposium on Russia. Dr. Michael Kimmage of The Catholic University of America and political economist, Dr. Igor Logvinenko of Occidental College will join the Russian experts and Dr. McGlynn for this first segment of video interviews. The Americanists will be a new MIR video series of leading Russian experts, of different generations and professional paths, recorded in-person and via Zoom.
