Despite the Kremlin’s best efforts to communicate otherwise, Russia’s future is bleak, several experts including the Institute’s Anna Vassilieva told The Hill recently.
Vassilieva is professor and founding director of the Monterey Initiative in Russian Studies.
“Certainly Putin … he basically threw his country back decades,” she said. “I always say we’ll have that blood on our faces for generations now, because of what he did. And that’s a terrible burden.”
