  1. Degree Works is a degree audit tool used by Students, Advisors and Records staff to track a students progress toward their degree.
  2. Use DegreeWorks to view a variety of important details, such as:
    1. College
    2. Program
    3. Major(s)
    4. Specializations (titled as Concentration in DW)
    5. Graduation Date
    6. Assigned Advisor
    7. GPA
    8. Credit count (required and applied)
    9. In-Progress and completed courses
    10. Waived requirements
    11. Degree requirements and associated courses
    12. Grades
    13. Courses highlighted as insufficient (incomplete grades, failing grades, withdrawn, audits etc…)
    14. Listing of in-progress courses
    15. Notes (if any have been added)
  3. Printable PDF view of a students audit
  4. Student and Advisor contact information
  5. Course History List
  6. Note functionality
  1. Notes can be added to a students degreeworks audit. These notes can be reminders, goals or any other number of pertinent information important to the successful completion of a student degree.

    2. Notes can be seen by everyone accessing the students DegreeWorks audit.

  1. Searching by ID is the easiest way to recall a students DegreeWorks audit.
  2. Enter the students 8 digit ID number (ID number will always begin with 00, then a 6 digit ID number after, ie… 00123456

  1. You can use the Advanced Search link to search for a student by First and Last name.

  1. Search by a number of parameters, such as:
    1. Major
    2. Concentration
    3. By Program
      1. Acclerated Entry
      2. Advanced Entry
      3. etc…
    4. Admit Date
    5. Graduation Date
  2. Use multiple parameters to filter search results
  3. Search results may be extensive and can contain students who have complete their degree programs already.

  1. Courses that complete a degree requirement are listed and have hyperlinks that direct to their course description. Some requirements have multiple courses that can fulfill it, other may only list one course.
  2. When a student completes a degree requirement the icon next to the requirement will change colorsfrom a red circle (incomplete) to blue half circle (in-progress) to green checkmark (course successfully completed.

DegreeWorks degree requirements

  1. Records can help add an alternate course as a waiver to an existing requirement.

Heres an example of what a waived course looks like in the students audit.

  1. Yes, you can use the icons at the top of the screen to print a pdf version of the students audit.

  1. You can access a chronological listing of all courses a student has taken at MIIS via the ellipses icon at the top of the student audit.

  1. Waived entries or exceptions  look different than all other degree requirements. Waived entries appear with gold text and include the name of the person making the entry and the description/approval for the waiver.

Heres an example of an exception entry for a student

  1. A students graduation date can be viewed in the Student information block.
