Your graduate program is an important investment in your future career.
We recognize that the financial commitment of graduate education can be an obstacle for many qualified candidates. To help make a Middlebury Institute education attainable, we consider both academic merit and financial need when granting scholarships.
In addition to traditional application requirements (transcripts, résumé or CV, test scores, etc.), you’ll have the opportunity to provide more detailed information about your academic and professional achievements, as well as your plans for financing your education and any particular financial circumstances that relate to your pursuit of graduate education. Partner and other scholarships are also available, so check to see if you qualify.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we guarantee a minimum $10,000-per-year scholarship (prorated by program length) to all Joint MPA/IEM students joining our community in fall 2020. Applicants who qualify for multiple guaranteed scholarships are awarded the largest single scholarship or a combination of scholarships with a total combined value up to 30 percent of tuition, whichever is larger. You may also receive additional merit and need-based scholarships depending on the strength of your application and your financial situation.
The sooner you apply, the more likely you are to receive our largest scholarships. You’ll also know your scholarship and financial aid information sooner, allowing you to calculate the actual cost of your program.
Watch our videos on how to finance your education. We also include customized instructions for international students.
More than 95 percent of qualified applicants who request scholarship consideration receive institutional support.
2020–21 Academic Year and 2021–22 Academic Year
The following cost of attendance applies to students who are registered for 12–16 credits in the fall 2020, spring 2021, fall 2021, or spring 2022 semesters. The Joint MPA/IEM is a five-semester program. Students are enrolled full time during the first four semesters and half time during the final semester. Accordingly, students pay the full-time tuition fee for four semesters and pay for six credits at the per-credit rate in the final semester.
