Diverting Hate: A Means to Preventing Online Radicalization Pathways

In spring 2021 a group of Middlebury Institute students entered a national competition challenging students to build solutions that combat hate, bias, and extremism. This team won that competition with their “Diverting Hate” program and went on to win a grant from the Department of Homeland Security to continue working on the project. Learn from Kaitlyn Tierney MAIPD ’22 and Courtney Cano MAIPD ’22 about the project, and their work to prevent online radicalization.
