Ocean Climate Action House Bill: A Major Advance for Climate Policy
MONTEREY, CA — October 20, 2020 Today, the House Natural Resources Committee introduced the “Ocean-Based Climate Solutions Act,” the first bill aimed at using ocean and coastal resources to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to help coastal communities equitably adapt to climate change impacts.

Middlebury Institute International Policy and Development student Isabella Lloyd-Damnjanovic’s MAIPD ‘21 class research project on the real life implications of the policy to criminalize migrant search-and-rescue operations in the Mediterranean has been published by the highly respected Migration Policy Institute.
Middlebury Institute Students Share Experiences from Remote Summer Internships
Middlebury Institute students share experiences completing immersive professional programs via remote learning. These positions connected students with professionals as near as Monterey and, domestically, as far as New York, NY. Internationally, students worked with clients in Switzerland and Malawi.

MIIS Students in the International Education Management program (IEM) spend their final semester working with organizations in the international education field. We spoke with Aleena Yunuba Hammack ‘20 who is participating in a practicum with Camp Fire, a nonprofit organization with a 110-year history of inclusive youth development.
