Spring 2026

Spring on the Peninsula is a spectacular time very little fog, and the sun is shining. Spring on the peninsula means wildflowers like the purple carpet of flowers in Pacific Grove, enjoying the outdoors (hiking and biking) like Garland Ranch Regional park in Carmel Valley, beaches like Lover’s Point and Carmel Beach, and Festivals, like the Pebble Beach Food & Wine in April.  Places you will create a life bond with the area with close-up views of the California coast and wonderful tide pools at Point Lobos Natural Reserve, wildflower blooms grace the edges of 17-mile Drive and Pacific Grove which are phenomenal places to bicycle. And Wildlife Day at Palo Corona Regional Park in Carmel. 

One of the best activities to do this April is the Whalefest Monterey. This is a free 2-day festival with hands-on activities, symposiums, exhibits, musical performances and best of all, possibly seeing gray and humpback whales who are migrating through the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. One also might spot dolphins, sea otters, sea birds and more.

May is the best month to view orca and humpback whales in Monterey Bay. With a number of boats, cruises or bike excursions, locals and tourists are sure to see these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
