Women in Localization Scholarship
Women in Localization members and volunteers are guaranteed 25 percent scholarships for our in-person MA in Translation and Localization Management program and related joint degrees.
Scholarships
We recognize Women in Localization (WL) members and volunteers and their service, leadership, and professional engagement as a valuable part of our campus community and global alumni network.
WL members and volunteers admitted to our in-person degree programs receive a 25 percent ($12K+ annual) scholarship—both current and past volunteers are welcome to apply. The earlier you apply, the more likely you are to receive additional merit and need-based scholarships.
Scholarships are only awarded at the time of admission, and applicants must be members or volunteers in good standing with Women in Localization before submitting their application.
If you are interested in an online degree program, you can still waive the application fee and benefit from the lower tuition cost for our online programs.
Eligible Programs
This scholarship is available for the following in-person programs:
- MA in Translation and Localization Management (TLM) degree program.
- Related joint TLM degrees.
Other Programs
The following programs are not eligible for the scholarship but they have more affordable pricing and should be of interest to Women in Localization members:
- Note-taking for Consecutive Interpretation: in less than seven hours, develop and refine a systematic approach to handwritten note-taking for consecutive interpretation with this $59, online, self-paced course.
- Subtitling for Streaming: in less than five hours, develop your video skills with this $99, online, self-paced course on the fundamentals of professional subtitling.
- Online MA in Localization Project Management: launch a career as a localization project manager with this online, asynchronous, part-time, 30-credit, $850/credit master’s degree.
Next Steps
- Determine the degree program that is right for you.
- Get your application fee waiver.
- Submit your application by the next deadline. Indicate your partner affiliation when prompted.
- Current volunteers may use their WL email address to verify their status and/or may also submit a letter of recommendation from their WL supervisor.
- Past volunteers should submit a letter of recommendation from their WL supervisor. You should also indicate your affiliation with Women in Localization on your résumé or CV.
